The 4th annual food drive to benefit Community Food Share was held Sunday, December 4th, 2011 and the result was incredible! Parent, players and spectators brought 745 pounds of food! Thank you for your remarkable generosity! Bromley Heights Charter School collected several hundred pounds of food as well. Our goal of 1000 pounds of food was reached and even exceeded!



Flatirons Volleyball Club will be running the Monarch Gold Crown teams for 2012. Gold Crown is a program for 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls. The teams are divided according to the local high school they will feed into. The competitive season begins the first of October and consists of two matches per week, typically held at the Gold Crown Foundation Facility in Lakewood on Sundays. Detailed information can be viewed at www.goldcrownfoundation.com.

Membership in USA Volleyball is required before any participation in Flatirons’ open gyms, clinics or tryouts. You may register for membership online at www.rmrvolleyball.org. Be sure to designate your club affiliation as “Undecided”. The cost is $55.

     practice at earlier times on week nights

Practice shirts
The purpose of practice shirts is to provide a visual cue that the team is united in their goal to focus on the tasks of improving skills and learning strategies.

Flatirons players are required for practices as follows:
First practice of the week: white shirts
Second practice of the week: gold shirts
Third practice of the week: black shirts


When are practices cancelled?

Practices are rarely cancelled.  two most common reasons for canceling a practice are due to severe weather and the scheduling of a school program.

When the weather is bad, a decision to cancel or not will be made after 4:00 PM on the day of the practice. Criteria for canceling includes a combination of icy roads, poor visibility, high winds/blowing snow, single digit temperatures, an accumulation of snow (4" - 6") and a travel advisory issued by CDOT.

As soon as the decision to cancel has been made, it will be posted on the calendar section on this website. In addition, Parent Reps will be notified and they will then notify team members.

Schools have first right of refusal on their facilities. When a program is scheduled, Flatirons' contract is canceled. Usually we have advance notice of this but occasionally there is a last minute need on the part of the school or the district.
