Congratulations to Five Star Volleyball Club, Lefthand Volleyball Club 17, Premier Volleyball Club 17 and Flatirons Volleyball Club for joining forces to donate over 1000 pounds of food to Community Food Share and His Hands Ministry at the annual Dig It Up Food Drive Scrimmage. The teams were able to scrimmage each other and donate to two very worthy causes. Let’s do it again next December!

Membership in USA Volleyball is required before any participation in Open Gyms or Tryouts. Online registration; renewed and new, is now open. Be sure to designate your club affiliation as “undecided”. Click here for instructions.

2010 Open Gym and Tryout Schedule

2010 Open Gyms and Tryouts are finished. Thanks to all who participated.

What is an Open Gym?

Open Gym is a time for Flatirons coaches to observe players in an informal setting. Team oriented games and drills will be run. All players who are interested in playing for Flatirons Volleyball Club are encouraged to attend as many Open Gyms as possible. This is an opportunity for you to see how Flatirons runs as a club, what our coaches are like and who are the other athletes interested in Flatirons.

Wear a T shirt that sets you apart from the others; no cut out shirts or inappropriate wordage, please. Avoid wearing shirts from other clubs. Bring a secure water bottle, wear knee pads and shorts.

You must have proof of membership in USA Volleyball ($45) to participate. The cost is $5 for each Open Gym.

How to register for Open Gyms and tryouts
RMR Membership:
You must have a current membership in RMR Volleyball (Rocky Mountain Region USA Volleyball) to attend Open Gyms and register for Tryouts. All paperwork and memberships must be complete before you can tryout.

If you are already a member, you may renew your membership at www.rmrvolleyball.org. Click on the “membership” box at the top of the page. Scroll down to find the “previous member login” box. Follow the prompts. You will need your user ID and password. Be sure to select “undecided” as your club. You will have only one opportunity to later insert the club you will be playing for; you’ll do this after Tryouts.

Print your 2009-2010 Membership Card (expiration date must be 2010) and bring it to all Open Gyms and Tryouts.

If you are new to club volleyball and the Rocky Mountain Region, you need to register for membership with Rocky Mountain Region USA Volleyball.
Membership is obtained at www.rmrvolleyball.org. Click on the “Membership” box at the top of the page. Scroll down to the "New Member Login" and complete the required information. (If you want some additional information, you can instead click under the "New" column on the link called "Junior Regular Membership-RMR Powers, Regional and National Events").

Your USA Volleyball membership ($45) must be paid for at the time of registration. Print the membership/identification card and bring it to all Open Gyms and Tryouts.

The Rocky Mountain Region Online Hotline number is (303) 264-9136. Help is available between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Do not call the RMR Office.

Tryouts:
Before you can attend tryouts, all paperwork, memberships and fees must be complete.  See above for USA Volleyball membership information.

Register for Tryouts on the Sign Up To Play website: www.signuptoplay.com

In addition, the following forms are required at the tryouts:
(click on the links below and select "Save". Then fill out and bring with you.)
___ Flatirons Tryout Form
___ Flatirons Participation Agreement Form
___ RMR Player Medical History Form
___ If you are new to Flatirons: two copies of state issued proof of age - either birth certificate, driver license, passport etc.

The tryout fee is $45 and it is non refundable. Write the check to Flatirons Volleyball Club and bring it to the tryout.
A deposit of $500 is due with your tryout registration. If you are not offered a spot on a Flatirons team, your deposit will be destroyed. The deposit is not refundable after verbal commitment to a Flatirons team. The deposit amount will be applied to the total due for fees.

After an offer is made:
Congratulations!
You’ve been offered a spot on a Flatirons team.
Upon your acceptance to the team, you will receive a contract that must be notarized and returned at the earliest possible date. A notary will be available at the tryout sessions. You will also receive a fee payment schedule that will show you when your future payments are due.

Important note: In the event you cannot commit to the offer made because you are trying out at another club, inform the Head Coach and s/he will make every attempt to work with you. Be advised the coach has the option to retract the offer and move on to the next athlete.
