Flatirons Parents and Players,

I hope this update finds you healthy and adjusting to the recommended protection protocol.

I want to confirm that the RMR has cancelled Power 4 (March 22) for 12’s, 14’s and 16’s. They’ve also cancelled Power 5 (March 29) for 13’s, 15’s and 17’s. Flatirons is exploring and discussing options with optimistic hopes we’ll be able to start up again with practices on Monday, March 30th.
We realize it’s not looking promising but if we get the okay, that’s what we’d like to do.

Crossroads is processing refunds for the Week 2 teams; this will take at least a couple more weeks.

Windy City teams have been notified of the tournament cancellation. The hotels are processing refunds to the credit cards used for your reservations. I’m believe we’ll get a partial refund for the tournament entry fees. After all the refunds are in, we’ll divvy them up accordingly.
We’ve checked into options such as Northern Lights or Far Western but there are no openings as of today.
Big South is still deciding whether to cancel or not; we should get notice soon.

Flatirons coaches have joined together to compile volleyball activities/lessons/reflections that players can do at home. Please encourage your daughter to participate.
I’m adding The Grit Test (attached) from Dr. Mike’s Mindfulness Training. Please forward or print; you’ll enjoy it, too.

Team pictures were delivered the week of March 9th.

Please take a look at the attached picture of water bottles left at a practice. Ask your athlete to let me know if one of them belongs to her. I also have a black fuzzy Columbia jacket and a grey Flatirons practice shirt.

Coach Tim (14 National Wikiwiki) is making good progress. He’s working hard in rehab but it looks like his full recovery will take about 5 more months. He’s in good spirits and misses everyone. Visitors are not allowed as the rehab center is on lockdown.

Hang in there . . . we’ll persevere!
