Happy Friday Flatirons Families!

I’ve got to kick off this eblast with how tickled I feel about Colorado’s efforts to keep COVID numbers down. With continued diligence, we’ll will keep schools open and the club season flowing without interruption. Keep up the great work!

Refunds
Refund checks will be mailed next week. I want to reiterate the refunds are based on monies we were refunded. For example, the 12’s Regional team missed three Power Tournaments and will be refunded $37.50. The 17 Elite team missed two Power Tournaments ($25) and two National Qualifier Tournament ($81 + $82). The total amount of refunds Flatirons will be sending is $17,386.84. While we would have loved to refund more, if we had, we’d be putting Flatirons in jeopardy for the 2021 Season.

Early Offers
As is the case with most clubs, we are early offering some 2020 players spots on a 2021 team. In an effort to lower the number of girls attending Tryouts, those who have committed early will not attend Tryouts. We are still working on sending early offers. It’s a fluid process with constant adjustments due to acceptances and declines. Because of COVID19, the trend is for athletes to stay with their club; a recommendation backed up by RMR .

Tryouts
The Rocky Mountain Region of USA Volleyball has just released the approved dates for Tryouts for the 2021 Season.
Tryouts for the older teams (15,16,17,18) are permitted to begin as early as July 5.
Tryouts for the younger teams (12,13,14) are permitted to begin as early as August 2.
Our Tryout schedule will be posted shortly.
Tryouts for the 2021 Season will be geared toward players new to Flatirons plus not yet committed 2020 players. Please encourage your friends to check us out.

Summer
Flatirons is easing back into volleyball by offering two programs in the park this summer (see previous emails). We’re so excited to see everyone ~ we had 24 girls last night!
We are adhering to the COVID19 rules laid out by the state of Colorado and local County officials. We thank you for your patience and cooperation!

2021 Season
Coaches, staff and players are more than ready to get the 2021 Season started! Here are some of the changes we foresee happening:
1. Lower or no increase in fees.
2. Cut out or cut back extra programs such as Nutrition Training, Leadership, Conditioning etc. Some will be offered virtually.
3. Institute plans for switching to virtual training should there be a COVID19 resurgence or a need for a break in order to stop a surge.
4. Keep 2020 uniform package to keep costs down (contingent on availability).

I can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve expressed! It’s sincerely appreciated!

Happy Father’s Day to all you terrific Dads!
